Track spending and manage personal finances with Moni (checkbook) App Reviews

After the latest update the app crashes and now I cant even open it. Im moving on to hopefully find s more reliable app. Ive used this for over a year.

I love the concept of this because it has helped me in my day to day life, blah blah blah. But, it has its problems. After entering a transaction it automatically slides back to the previous account name. Also, Im not crazy about alpha order, I dont think it was needed. Please have like a general over view of all the accounts combined and then a separate one which you can swipe through.

UPDATE: Wait, I cant even listen to my music while opening this app? Seriously, the more I use Moni, the more angry and frustrated I become. What was once hands down the best money ledger app for iOS has become a user hostile experience. Much disappointment. PREVIOUSLY: Upon further examination, I am removing another star. Not only have the best features been removed or made too complex, the app no longer accurately shows my transactions. For an app whose main job should be to accurately track my transactions, this is a huge disappointment, and renders Moni no longer trustworthy for my needs. PREVIOUSLY: The simplicity is what used to make this app great. Enter an amount and a note and youre done. Now it requests more information per entry and doesnt autocomplete notes, which means adding entries is not something you can do at the register while waiting for your payment to clear. Animations are no longer as responsive, causing the app to feel slower than it is. Im also disappointed that accounts are now alphabetized, so the account I use most is no longer the default, which means even more time to enter a transaction. Let me get in and get out as fast as possible! Please. PREVIOUSLY: But the user experience is lacking, where once it was also great. The app has not been updated in 2 years, which means its getting buggy and had not been adjusted to fit on bigger screens. And thats just the basics; dont get me started on fundamental features being hidden behind an IAP. PREVIOUSLY: Hooray, snappier! iOS 7-ier! But please, please, please return exporting as a normal feature. Why was it moved to IAP? Sync is new, so thats understandable, but export already existed. Dont force us to pay for features that we already had before the app updated itself! Thats a bad experience. -------- After searching for a perfect finance app, this one is the closest to all my requirements without all the superfluous bells and whistles. In fact, I only have a few minor gripes, because Im nitpicky. Moni is an app I depend upon daily – every time I swipe a card – and I can highly recommend it.

Was excellent before the big update. Now when I create a transaction it doesnt put it under the right account that I selected. There are many bugs I hope an update gets released soon that will fix these issues

You guy were doing so well and then messed it up again. I cant adjust the balance of my account. I go to the adjust balance screen, enter the new amount, and push the check button. Then I go back to look at my account and the balance hasnt changed. Fail. More steps, less functionality: this update did not succeed.

Im waiting for a new update that will fix this app. Sometimes its just shows blank white and i cant do anything with it.

This is by far one of the most frustrating apps to use. Why does the user need to enter multiple screens to add a transaction? Half the time when I try to return to the first screen after adding in the transaction "category" the app gives me a blank white screen. This requires the app to be shut down and restarted. Then the user needs to re-enter the transaction details.

The new update has created an app that is almost completely useless. Crashes, Transactions entered ended up in random accounts and its just generally harder to use. I did not renew my premium subscription because of it.

Im just gonna stop updating apps from here on out. Im tired of developers screwing up a perfectly good app. I agree that this app was better when it was simpler. I have too many little complaints than I feel like listing, but the biggest issues I have are the app silencing my music when I open it and every few times I open the app and try to save a transaction, the screen goes white and I have to force quit the app and enter the transaction again.

*UPDATE 11/7/16* I havent had luck finding another app that simplifies money management quite like Moni, so Ive been a steady user for many months. My experience in the beginning was great. They were improving everything, and started adding features that were very useful. Recently, however, the reliability of this app has gone down tremendously. Too often do I get a blank white screen and have to exit and restart the app. Not a huge deal, but when youre in a hurry and this happens, its extremely frustrating. Especially since the main reason for using it (for me) is the convenience. While they have taken user advice and built on it, there are still major issues that hurt the overall function of the app. *ORIGINAL REVIEW* Ive been using this app for quite a few months now. I initially downloaded it to have real-time tracking of my finances. Ive tried many other similar apps, and while they look and perform a bit better, the simplicity of Moni is what always brings me back to it. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to simply keep track of your money. Love it!

This used to be a great app, until I updated it and cant even open it now. How do you allow an update to be released that completely shuts an app down?

This white wall that appears randomly after switching screens needs to go away NOW!!!

This application is incredibly beautiful! Its really what I wanted to manage my money. The only problem I have is that I cant save my Color Scale preferences and thats quite annoying. Hope it will be fixed soon! (twitter: @temporalior for more details if needed)

Good app to keep track of tour expenses. Easy to use and handy. One thing is missing - automatic monthly expense and incomes that you have to enter each time. I would recommend it to all fashionistas ;)
